KDDI R&D Laboratories has developed XEUS — XML document encoding with uniformed sheet — software for encoding XML data at a high compression rate and decoding it on a handset using low-power memory. XEUS enables the sender to verify the validity of data and convert data formats during compression, tasks that are typically handled by the receiver handset, thus achieving decoding at high speed.
