KDDI Releases XML Data Codec Software for Cell Phones (LinuxInsider.com)
KDDI R&D Laboratories has developed XEUS — XML document encoding with uniformed sheet — software for encoding XML data at a high compression rate and decoding it on a handset using low-power memory. XEUS enables the sender to verify the validity of data and convert data formats during compression, tasks that are typically handled by the receiver handset, thus achieving decoding at high speed.

OASIS Launches OpenDocument XML.org (LinuxElectrons)

The OASIS international standards consortium has launched a new web site, OpenDocument XML.org, designed to serve as the official community gathering place and information resource for the OpenDocument Format (ODF). An international standard approved by OASIS, ISO and IEC, OpenDocument enables users of varying office products to freely exchange documents.
